I’ll never forget when Emily reached out to me about photographing her’s and Blake’s wedding. It was like we had known each other for years! We had quite a bit in common, graduating from the same College, being involved in Greek Life there and the fact that we both shared the same name, Emily Ann! How crazy is that?!
When Emily told me about their proposal story, my heart melted. After dating for a few years, Blake totally surprised her and proposed in the Gardens of the National Cathedral. Afterwards, they celebrated at a local bar where he had invited Emily’s family and friends to join them! I mean, it doesn’t get much better than that!
We planned their engagement session for the month of January. We knew there was a possibility for snow, but didn’t really think anything of it. Well as the day got closer, the inches of snow fall kept growing! I remember chatting with Emily and telling her, we could totally reschedule because it was going to be cold and snowy! But she LOVED the idea of snowy engagement photos! It didn’t phase her one bit, in fact, she was so excited!
When I met them for photos, it snowed literally the entire two hours we were outside! After about 30 minutes, all three of us were soaked! Thank goodness for those twelve clear umbrellas that I keep in my trunk (perks of being a photographer)! And they both had smiles on their faces the entire time!
Thank you for trusting me on this freezing, snowy afternoon! You two were such a joy to work with and these photos are some of my absolute favorites! I cannot wait for your Rose Hill Manor Wedding in April! I’m crossing my fingers for lots of sun and much warmer temps! XOXO
How beautiful is her ring?! I just LOVE it!
Snowy streets of Old Town! SO beautiful!
Probably my favorite photo of the day! These two were the absolute best!
Blake having such a great time!
